Jerome Rico Knox III
- Jerome F. Knox III was born at University Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He has been writing since the age of 9 and credits his gift from his mother, his oldest sister and God. His mother is an excellent poet and wrote a lot of plays for her church combined with the fact that she was a schoolteacher. Jerome has several pen names; T.K. Peters/ Thomas Kyle Peters, D'Sean Johnson, Jerome Rico Knox III and Rico D'Sean Knox III. In music his moniker is Sir Beatz where he creates his own beats to his fiery Spoken Word. Jerome's oldest sister is a skilled writer and taught him to play scrabble at the tender age of 6. This helped him to develop a rich, robust vocabulary that serves as a foundation for all of his works. His youngest sister has her Doctoral Degree and challenged him to develop his talents further. During his early childhood his mother would have him perform gospel plays and this served as the foundation in which he was exposed to writing, acting and singing. In junior high school he took the Gifted and Talented Education (G.A.T.E.) assessment test where it was discovered that he had creative writing talents. Soon after that he was placed in advanced English and Creative Writing Courses all through junior high school where he received straight A’s. He has started his own non-profit organization RDK Enterprises which focuses on helping male rape survivors and children of sexual abuse. Jerome is a male rape survivor and contributes much of his writing from this pain and through the life he has lived.
